Wirginia is
a paediatric neurosurgeon who obtained her fellowship in 1996. She
undertook fellowships in epilepsy surgery at the University Hospital in
London, Ontario and paediatric neurosurgery in Necker Enfants Malades, Paris.
She was head of department at the Royal Childrens Hospital until 2020. Wirginia
has an active interest in neurosurgical education having established and
directed the Asian Australasian educational course from 2004. She was the
chairman of the educational committee of the Asian Australasian Society for
Paediatric Neurosurgery until 2023 when she became its President. Wirginia has
a particular interest in epilepsy surgery having performed over 700 resective
surgeries in children. The Children’s Epilepsy surgery program is a strong image
based service which specialises in advanced imaging techniques to aid surgery.
