Mr Aquilina has been a consultant paediatric neurosurgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK, since 2012. He graduated from the University of Malta in 1995 and completed his neurosurgical training in the UK. He also completed a one-year clinical fellowship in paediatric neurosurgery, and particularly in paediatric neuro-oncology, at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. His main clinical and research interests relate to brain tumours, hydrocephalus, selective dorsal rhizotomy, and drug delivery to the CNS. He is the chief investigator of ENLIVEN-UK, an NIHR-funded multicentre randomised trial investigating endoscopic lavage for post- haemorrhagic ventricular dilatation in premature neonates.
