Nico Enslin is a paediatric neurosurgeon with a special interest in functional neurosurgery and epilepsy surgery. He is an associate professor at University of Cape Town and does part – time functional neurosurgery in private sector as well in Cape Town. His main research interest is spasticity-surgery and he is involved with the various research ventures of the Red Cross Hospital Neurosurgery division. He is the continental-president for the World-Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and chairman of the surgical therapies commission of ILAE. Nico is the chair on the education committee of the Society of Neurosurgery of SA.
He qualified as a physiotherapist before doing medicine and uses this background in diagnosis and managing movement disorder patients with neuromodulation- and lesioning-techniques.
